Our Values
As a Church of England Primary School, Christian values are at the heart of all we do. Over a two year rolling programme, we consider twelve different values, one each half term. These values become the major theme of our collective worship and are taught and reinforced throughout the curriculum and every day life of the school.
The Global Goals
On 25th September 2015, leaders from 193 member states of the United Nations, met to discuss the world’s problems and decide on a plan to tackle them. They named this plan the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (commonly known as the Global Goals).
The three big aims of the Global Goals are that we fight inequality and injustice, end extreme poverty and tackle climate change. The Global Goals are the most ambitious agreement for sustainable development that world leaders has ever made.
They build on the success of their predecessors the Millennium Development Goals and aim to go further to end all forms of poverty. Everyone, everywhere has a part to play.
At Hartpury Primary School we work hard to leave a light footprint. The three 'R's are encouraged:
Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle
- Reduce. This is the most effective of the three Rs and the place to begin. It is also the hardest because it requires a mindset change. One aim is to reduce the use of paper in school.
- Reuse. Before you recycle or dispose of anything, consider whether it has life left in it. We will reuse items in our new outdoor project called OPAL.
- Recycle. Recycling - we ensure all paper and cardboard is recycled along with additional items such as batteries and clothing using the FOHS clothes bank.
