Church Links
Near to Hartpury C of E Primary School is St. Mary's Church a Grade I listed building, Originally dating back to Norman times and with links to St. Peter's Abbey in Gloucester. There was a Norman west window in the nave but the tower was built against it in the 14th century. Also 14th century is the font, while the timber framed porch dates from the 15th century and the pulpit is Jacobean. The church was restored by Waller in 1882.
St Mary's Church - Hartpury
A Church has stood in Maisemore since the 12th century, but nothing remains of the original building, Parts of the current church were re-built in the 15th century. From this later period only the tower, the south porch and the nave south-wall remain; the rest was re-built in the 19th century.
Church of St Giles - Maisemore
Three times a year, the whole school takes part in a worship services at one of our two Parish Churches, St Giles Maisemore or St Mary the Virgin Hartpury. Parents, family and friends join us for these special times.
Easter Service
Every Easter we celebrate the most important Christian festival of all in one of our two churches. In our service we share songs and poems, sing hymns, share liturgy, pray together and enjoy a talk by Vicar John.
Christmas Service
Every Christmas we celebrate the important Christian festival of Christmas. In our service we sing carols share verses from the Bible and pray together. Finally, we enjoy a talk by Vicar John - often we light candles and make our own Christingles as well.
